Boz Scaggs (natural William Royce Scaggs June 8, 1944) is an Ohio-born Texan singer, songwriter and guitarist.
Fallowing learning guitar at a age of Dozen, he met Steve Miller at St. Mark's School of Texas in Dallas. Around 1959, he became the singer for Miller's band The Marksmen. A pair late attended a University of Wisconsin together, playing within blues bands like The Ardells and The Fabulous Knight Trains.
Allowing school, Scaggs briefly left Texas to join the burgeoning rhythm and blues scene in London.
